Chair : Mr. Margo BRIESSINCK, Chair of PIARC TC 4.1, Belgium

This session deals with resilience of road pavements. TC 4.1 "Pavements" is preparing a collection of case studies on this topic. Some of these case studies will be be presented during this session. Climate change is an important cause which can have an adverse influence on the behaviour of pavements, be it extreme temperatures or flooding. Three of the four case studies will deal with this aspect. A change of traffic, such as truck platooning, can also have an adverse effect on the pavement structure. The last presentation will discuss the resilience aspects of this.
